- > Not for serious use? What about the commercial program, "Photogenics"?
-
- That's what I'm talking about! (Photogenics is 20,000 lines of E for the
- main code, everything else - pgs.library and all the gio and paintmode
- files are written in C and/or assembler).
-
- The biggest bugs currently left in Photogenics are almost impossible to
- track down in E. The lack of typecasting, the non-standard includes (I'm
- sure there's a serious bug in E's gadtools and/or intutition includes but
- I've no way of knowing) are all very serious.
-
- We are also planning a PowerAmiga version of Photogenics. We cannot just
- 'hope' that a PowerAmigaE will appear, and wait for that. For that reason
- alone we need to rewrite the code into C. As the main program is being
- significantly rewritten anyway this isn't a bad thing.
-
- And should we ever want to port Photogenics to another platform, what
- chance do we have if the code is in E?
